After that debacle of trying to breach the subject of memory issues with the Dr., the Plan was to eliminate all other possible causes for memory problems.
The Dr. balanced and regulated her hormones (yay! menopause). Check
Adjusted her Thyroid medication. Check
Adjusted her Depression medication. Follow up with a therapist. Check
The only thing not done was an MRI, to check for a brain tumor.
It’s now the fall 0f 2012 and I vacillate between “knowing” she has EOAD and hoping she has a Brain tumor. But when she asked me 5 times in a matter of 10 minutes whether I had already seen The Book of Mormon, I was back to: “We’re not in Kansas anymore….”! Then I cried, really cried for the first time. I was driving at the time, (my only true solitude). Crying while driving can be as bad as texting while driving!! Not recommended.
After the tears, I do what I always do, “Do something!” (action).
Not while droving, but crying might give you some relief. You don’t have to play “the strong” fulltime. Make sure you take care of yourself as well.
