About me:

This is the story of my journey into the “World of Alz”. Something I knew nothing about, (personally). I had seen it, dealt with it and discussed it a lot; but never experienced it directly. There’s a BIG difference! So I thought I would share this with anyone and everyone. My loved one (LO) hasn’t been “officially” diagnosed but there is no doubt in my mind that she has Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease, (EOAD). She is 60. We have been together for 12 years, married for 2yrs. (it just became legal for us to marry in the state of CA July 2013). I’m writing to help myself and maybe help someone else. There is a lot to be said for “not feeling like you’re the only one”.

P.S. I’m starting from the beginning, (relatively speaking), even though we are 3 1/2 years into this adventure.

  2. Well, I just got caught up with all of the posts and blogs. Just watched the video. After drying my eyes to be able to see what I am writing, thank goodness we have the ability to share our experiences and thoughts thru this type of media!
    I know it’s difficult and heartbreaking ( been experiencing it with my Mom for the last 9 years). Definitely different with a partner.
    Just know that I think about you frequently with your situation and I’m glad that you have this as a support system.
